The new Santulhão Center for Local and Traditional Products, Vimioso, is a space dedicated to promoting the region's authentic flavors, with a focus on olive oil and Santulhão olives, emblematic products of the Trás-os-Montes region.
The investment, exceeding €700,000 and 85% supported by PROVERE funds, created a multipurpose space with a floor area of 800 m², designed to blend in with the surrounding rural environment. radioregional+1
At the center, visitors will find areas for exhibitions, fairs, training sessions, a kitchen, a bar, and support areas, designed to enhance events, events, and commercial, cultural, and leisure activities in Vimioso and neighboring municipalities.
At the Vimioso Local and Traditional Products Center, you'll find a wide variety of local and emblematic products, from olive oil and Santulhana olives to traditional smoked meats (alheira, chouriça, botelo), cheeses, honey, typical sweets (such as bola-doce, almond pastries, roscos), dried fruits, sausages, local wine, homemade bread, liqueurs, and handicrafts such as basketwork and burel. terrademirandanoticias+3
These products reflect the gastronomic and artisanal wealth of Trás-os-Montes, many of them made by local producers and valuing the tradition of the land, especially the connection with olive oil, the greatest symbol of the municipality.. agroportal+3
The new space fills a gap in the appreciation and promotion of local products and promises to reinforce the role of regional olive oil in tourism and commerce in Trás-os-Montes. agroportal+1
This opening reinforces the link between tradition, endogenous products and the role of Vimioso olive oil as a central reference for visitors and regional consumers.
