Parks
PINTA - Parque Ibérico de Natureza e Aventura | Vales de Linhoso
The Angueira, Sabor, and Maçãs River Valleys offer unique conservation characteristics that combine nature and humanity in perfect harmony. To ensure proper management of human occupation and recreational uses, and to actively promote nature tourism, PINTA proposes a series of activities that prioritize contact with the region's natural and cultural diversity:
Human Activities
As villages become depopulated, they also lose their customs and traditions, and it is expected that the remaining cultural practices will struggle to survive. Preserving these cultural practices is far preferable to having to restore or reinvent everything in the future, in a completely artificial way. PINTA develops activities such as Cereal Milling, Artisanal Bread Making, Wool Cycle, Beekeeping, Traditional Basket Weaving, among others, to promote and preserve these cultural practices.
Leisure Activities in Nature
Spending fun and family bonding hours, offering leisure activities fully integrated with nature, is one of PINTA's goals. Along the Angueira River, it will be possible, for example, to follow a hiking trail and observe a beautiful landscape of marshes, vegetable gardens, and forests.
Environmental Education and Conservation Activities
Transforming nature reserves from static and often poorly understood places into places of true environmental education is the best guarantee, after all, of understanding their importance and safeguarding their future conservation. To this end, PINTA offers activities such as Birdwatching, Flora and Ethnobotany, Reptile and Amphibian Identification and Ecology, Bat Identification, Butterfly Observation and Identification, Mushroom Collection and Identification, Scientific Bird Banding, among others.
