What can you see?
Opened on September 9, 2022, the Côa Walkways are 930 meters long and bring together the best of the history and landscape of this place.
The walkways connect the Côa Museum and the deactivated Côa railway station, close to the mouth of the Côa River, but now facing the Douro River.
There are 890 steps and a drop of 160 meters from where you can see a landscape marked by rugged slopes and terraces, the tranquility of the Douro and Cõa rivers, and countless plant and animal species, some of which are protected.
The route requires some stamina when going uphill, but the stops allow you to contemplate an extraordinary territory, which brings together the Prehistoric Art of the Côa Valley and the Landscape of the Douro Wine Region, both classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
