Valpaços elected Best European Organic City in 2025

Valpaços has just been recognized as "Best Organic City" by the European Commission, as part of the 2025 European Organic Production Awards – an achievement that deserves congratulations and recognition from all who embrace this territory, especially producers, the local government, and the local community.

This distinction recognizes the municipality's exemplary work in leading Portugal in organic farming, promoting sustainability across more than 500 km², with 516 certified producers, and highlighting its commitment to short supply chains, educational gardens, municipal composting, and the promotion of local products – where Valpaços olive oil is a benchmark. rtp
