Bragança launches its first Agricultural Fair — four days of innovation, tradition and regional produce

The Bragança Agricultural Fair (FAB)

The municipality of Bragança is holding, from 18 to 21 June 2026, the first edition of the Bragança Agricultural Fair (FAB) — an unprecedented initiative that places the Northeast Transmontano on the map of major events dedicated to agriculture and rural development.

With the Quinta do IEFP as its venue, the FAB brings together producers, entrepreneurs and researchers in a space for sharing, innovation and the promotion of the primary sector.

The President of the Municipal Council, Isabel Ferreira, emphasised that the event was created to fill a significant gap in the municipality — and to build a platform worthy of the territory's agricultural wealth.

Programme

The programme is structured around four themed days:

  • Day 18 — Innovation and Knowledge: lectures, practical demonstrations and presentations on agricultural technology and innovation, including drone demonstrations.

  • Day 19: programme to be confirmed in detail by the organisers.

  • Day 20 — "Farmer's Day": focused on honey and bread, specialised seminars, native breed competitions for goats and sheep, the Transmontana livestock dog competition and a tractor parade through the city.

  • Day 21 — "Tradition Day": Mirandesa cattle breed competition and the traditional bull-fighting contests (chegas de touros) to close the fair.

Throughout the four days, visitors can explore a pedagogical farm with traditional native breed animals, an agricultural machinery zone with practical demonstrations, and spaces for the exhibition and sale of local and regional products. The FAB includes producers from the municipality, the district and other regions of Portugal.

For Azeite a Norte, this is an event to follow closely: agriculture and olive growing are cornerstones of the territory we share, and initiatives like this strengthen the visibility and pride of the Northeast Transmontano.
