🌿 A weekend of discovery and sharing.

The Tua Hiking Festival 2025 came to an end this past weekend, between November 8th and 9th, in the village of Sobreira, in the municipality of Murça.
With registrations sold out, 250 participants hiked the PR1 MUR trail — Sobreira Trail – Casa da Floresta – Porrais, in the Vale do Tua Regional Natural Park (PNRVT), in an edition marked by the communion between landscape, tradition and sharing.
🎶 Culture and tradition in Sobreira
The first day of the festival brought music, sharing, and local flavors.
The Douro Arpeggio group's concert, held in the Church of Sobreira, opened Saturday's activities, followed by a wine tasting from Quinta do Cabeceiro, which revealed the best of the region's wine heritage.
At nightfall, the traditional chestnut roast warmed the atmosphere with roasted chestnuts, caldo verde (kale soup), bifanas (pork sandwiches), and rancho (a traditional dish), prepared by the village's Festival Committee.
The night ended with the Ricky Show, in a true celebration of joy, accompanied by the contagious energy of Gabriela Lemos and Eduardo Beça.
🥾 Walking through the Tua Valley
On Sunday, the festival invited participants to discover the natural beauty of Murça on the PR1 MUR trail – Trilho da Sobreira – Casa da Floresta – Porrais.
The 12.7-kilometer hike, with 497 meters of elevation gain, saw mist enveloping the landscapes of the Tua Valley in a serene and inspiring setting.
Along the way, local flavors and convent sweets sweetened the breaks, making the experience even more memorable.
The day concluded with a convivial lunch, ending another successful edition with a spirit of community.
🌾 An event that celebrates the territory.
Promoted by the Tua Valley Regional Natural Park, in partnership with PORTUGAL NTN and the participating municipalities, the Tua Walking Festival is establishing itself as one of the largest nature tourism events in Trás-os-Montes.
Its main objective is to value the natural, cultural and gastronomic heritage, promoting sustainable practices and authentic experiences in the heart of Northern Portugal.
The next edition, already confirmed for 2026, promises new routes and the same enthusiasm for discovering the paths of the Tua.🌿
