ASINIFIRE – Donkeys in Fire Prevention for Ecological Resilience

According to the website vidarural.pt, this is a project that involves "practices that allow fuel management, while valuing native breeds and boosting cross-border rural areas."

“Donkey grazing in RBTMI generates economic benefits through various activities that include clearing brush, producing manure, tourism, therapies, among others. The ASINIFIRE project aims to increase these benefits throughout the project’s lifetime,” said María Villa, project coordinator.

These animals return to help protect forests and people.
