UTAD: Training in "Olive Oil Extraction Technology"

UTAD - University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, is now accepting applications for professionals in this training:

"PRESENTATION
Obtaining quality olive oils depends on the variety, the health of the olives, the optimal harvest time, but also largely on mastering the various technologies involved in olive oil extraction and quality control at all stages of extraction, in accordance with current legislation. The olive oil extraction technology course aims to train students in the various stages of the olive oil extraction process. The course covers essential technical and practical topics for those wishing to work in the olive oil industry, such as the operation of the machinery and equipment used, extraction methods, quality and safety standards, as well as preservation and packaging processes. This course aligns with the objectives set out in UTAD's action plan regarding the expansion and diversification of the institution's non-degree-granting training offerings.
OBJECTIVES
The aim is to train students in the use of precise and efficient technologies in order to make olive oil extraction more sustainable, safe, and with a lower environmental impact. Trainees will acquire the skills to better understand the practices to be implemented to obtain quality olive oils. Furthermore, the knowledge acquired will enable them to perform functions in industrial olive oil extraction units.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Upgrading/Retraining – Professionals in Agricultural Sciences;Specialized Training/Additional Training – Students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cycles of studies in Agricultural Sciences.
