Rota dos Mineiros de Argozelo
PR15 VMS-BGC
Vimioso, Bragança
An 8.3 km linear trail starting at the Argozelo Mines Interpretation Centre — a space dedicated to the former tin and wolfram mining that peaked in the mid-20th century. The Argozelo mines were the most important in the Parada Ribeira-Argozelo tin-tungsten belt, with 7 levels of galleries reaching 170 m depth. The route crosses the historic village of Argozelo, passes the Gato gallery (level 1 of the mine), follows the plateau above the River Sabor with an optional detour to the São Bartolomeu Sanctuary, and ends at the Miners' Bridge — a historic crossing point used by mine workers. The Sabor valley is home to griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures and golden eagles. FCMP certified. Source: CM Vimioso / WalkingPortugal.
