São João da Pesqueira
A 17.6 km circular trail of moderate difficulty, starting and finishing at Largo da Fonte da Aldeia in Pereiros. The route can be started from any of the villages it passes through — Pereiros, Vilarouco or Valongo dos Azeites. From Pereiros, it follows Rua da Fraga along an ancient path through the Ribeiro Longo valley to Agorrêta, a former inn. A wide path separates the forest from fields of almond trees. After the plateau, the trail descends to the EN222 with views of the Quinta de Santa Luzia vineyards. The route passes through olive trees, almond trees and cork oaks to the Rio Torto, then climbs towards the Chapel and Viewpoint of Santa Luzia, with views over the UNESCO Alto Douro Wine Region.
