A 20.6 km circular trail of difficult grade, starting from the village of Matela. It crosses fields with centuries-old olive trees, follows the left bank of the River Sabor valley and climbs to Junqueira through native scrubland and farmland. The return passes through scrub, cereals, vines and olive groves. An optional side trail leads to the confluence of the Sabor and Maçãs rivers, with views over the valleys guarded by the Castle of Algoso. FCMP certified. Source: CM Vimioso / WalkingPortugal.
