Description and Content
The Great Crossing of the International and Wine Douro (GTDIV) is a 275 km cycling route divided into 6 stages, promoted by the Association of Municipalities of the Upper Douro (AMDS). Each stage begins and ends in a municipal headquarters, where support centers have changing rooms, toilets, and bicycle washing stations.
The route connects the Upper Douro Wine Region to the protected area of the International Douro, crossing seven municipalities: Miranda do Douro, Mogadouro, Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Torre de Moncorvo, Carrazeda de Ansiães, Vila Nova de Foz Côa, and Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo (the latter outside the ANa territory). Six of these municipalities belong to the Azeite ao Norte territory.
The route crosses two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Rock Art of the Côa Valley and the Upper Douro Wine Region, as well as the International Douro Natural Park and the Meseta Ibérica Biosphere Reserve. It is one of the major cycling routes in the interior of São Paulo.
Recommended season:

Olive tourism notes:
It crosses the entire olive-growing territory of the Upper Douro. Each stage allows contact with olive groves, mills and olive oil producers.
