Description and Content
The Cyclin'Portugal — Quadrassal Center is a network of 9 mountain bike/cross-country (MTB) routes totaling approximately 200 km, distributed across 4 difficulty levels, in the municipalities of Mirandela and Macedo de Cavaleiros. It represents an investment of €230,000 co-financed by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
Two entry points serve the center: the former Vale de Lobo Primary School (Mirandela) and the former Cortiços Railway Station (Macedo de Cavaleiros). The company PortugalNTN has installed sensors along the routes that are activated when cyclists pass, emitting audio messages with information about the area.
The routes traverse landscapes of olive groves, vineyards, almond groves, and oak forests, passing through traditional villages of Trás-os-Montes such as Podence (land of the Caretos, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage site) and Soutelo Mourisco.
Recommended season:
Spring and autumn. Hot summers in the lower altitudes.

The routes cross traditional olive groves. There's the possibility of combining mountain biking with visits to olive oil mills and tastings in Vale de Lobo and Cortiços.
