São Brás Fair 2026 | Smoked Meat Fair of São João da Corveira

The São Brás Fair 2026, also known as the São João da Corveira Smoked Meat Fair, takes place on January 31st and February 1st, 2026, in São João da Corveira, Valpaços municipality, and is recognized as the oldest traditional smoked meat fair in Portugal.

With over 200 years of history, this emblematic event attracts hundreds of visitors every year, who come to the region to taste and purchase traditional smoked meats from Trás-os-Montes, such as ham, salpicão (cured sausage), alheira (sausage), linguiça (sausage), orelheira (pig's ear) and other regional sausages. The fair is a true landmark of Trás-os-Montes gastronomy, valuing local products and ancestral knowledge.

Organized by the Parish of São João da Corveira, with the support of the Valpaços City Hall, the São Brás Fair combines tradition, cultural identity, and popular entertainment, featuring live music, community gatherings, and the traditional bull runs, which take place on Sunday afternoons.
