What will the experience be like?

A seasonal and authentic agricultural experience taking place in May and June, with the main objective of introducing participants to the entire process of harvesting, processing, and consuming cherries, the queen of this region.

Alongside this experience, we will showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Fresco Mural Painting Route, revealing hidden mural art treasures in churches and chapels within the Sabor Lakes region.

Trip Plan

This experience will include a section of the Fresco Mural Painting Route, where we will visit several churches and chapels.

We will also explore part of the panoramic route of the Sabor Lakes and possibly visit CIARA, the Environmental Interpretation and Animal Recovery Center.

We will visit the Alfândega da Fé Agricultural Cooperative and its large cherry orchards, covering approximately 60 hectares, where we will participate in a cherry harvesting experience.

During the Cherry & Co. weekend in Alfândega da Fé, the program will be adapted to include a visit to the event, which usually takes place on the second weekend of June.

The program may also be adapted to include a visit to the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Cerejais, Alfândega da Fé, whose annual pilgrimage takes place on the penultimate weekend of May.

The workshop "Cherries in Healthy Cooking" may be added to the program.
