Casa d'Abó Anica is located in the center of the village of Malhadas, 5 km from the city of Miranda do Douro, in the district of Bragança. This house belonged to a humble family who worked in the fields. It consisted of three buildings: two of them used for housing and the third served as a hayloft and pet shop. The central house had a unique window in the village, dating from 1833, still preserved on the facade of the house.
Casa d'Abó Anica is located near several points of interest in the village, such as the Chapel of São Bartolomeu, originating from the 16th century, the medieval Veiga wayside cross, and the village's Parish Council. The parish church of Nossa Senhora da Expectação, a monument of public interest, is 300 m away.
Malhadas
Malhadas, in the municipality of Miranda do Douro, was a medieval village and, at one time, a town protected by the nobility. The village keeps alive the cultural traditions of the region, such as the Pauliteiros dance and the performance of the Mirandese quelóquios, dances and theatrical pieces in Mirandese.
Points of interest in the village include the Parish Church of Our Lady of Expectation and the medieval wayside cross. Recently, the Center for the Valorization and Improvement of the Churra Galena Sheep and Mirandese Cattle Breeds (CVMRA), native Mirandese breeds, was created in the village.
